February 2008 Race Report : Bead Bash 5K, 15K and Jr. 1K

Race Start: 8:03:49  .  Conditions: 37F Clear

The runners were sent off by Jerry Powell who has done a great job in charge of the club for the last 14 months.  One of the early leaders is  James Royal  who will taking on the task of leading the club from here on.  
 

5K Male Winners: Overall - Jeff Fox.  Masters -Irwin Fairclough.  Seniors - J J Jenkins.
It was a close race as Jeff(#763) and Irwin(#3560) were separated by less than one second at the finish.
5K Female Winners: Overall - Ella Montgomery . Masters - Glynn Ross.  Seniors - Ruth Olinger

15K Male Winners: Overall - Rob Higley.  Masters -James Royal.  Seniors - Bill Shaw.

15K Female Winners: Overall - Frances McKissick.  Masters - Jill Tillinghast.  Seniors - Marylyn Patrick.
Seniors winner Bill Shaw and Wally Capps(left) both ran faster than the 15K age group record for 65-69.  Gordon Ratcliff(right) set the 15K AG record for 70-74 despite getting off-course and running further than 15K.
Brian Millet did a great job scanning all the finisher's bibs.  The system just needs a few minor adjustments and results will be instant.  We are looking for a few more people to train and be familiar with this system to help us in future races.  Please let us know if you're interested.
